Bon, bien sûr, il y a quelques exceptions, mais il n'y a rien de bien méchant, vous allez voir:

1) L'HEURE PILE

Quand il est '8h' ou '8h pile', on dit : 'it's eight o'clock' - ECOUTER

(Bien sûr, cela fonctionne avec toutes les heures).



2) LE QUART D'HEURE

On utilise 'a quarter'.

9.15 = it's a quarter past nine. ECOUTER

8.45 = it's a quarter to nine. ECOUTER





3) LA DEMI-HEURE

On utilise 'half' (ce qui veut dire : la moitié: la moitié d'une heure).

On fait bien attention à prononcer le 'h' et par contre à oublier le 'l'.

6.30 = it's half past six.
