One of the churches in Nikolo-Babaevsky monastery, Russia.
Built in our time to replace the church destroyed by the Bolsheviks, it is a fine example of how a simple historical style can be combined with a quality replication, instead of imitation, to create a beautiful structure without costing much and without making it look cheap.

I was surprised and glad to see the sculpted crucifix on the right. Under Turkish pressure on the one hand and Catholic expansionism on the other, the Serbian Church has almost given up on the sculpture, and its return is certainly pleasing.
