Taoism (Chinese: 道教, pinyin: Daojiao, 'the way of teaching') | TAO Medecine Channel

Taoism (Chinese: 道教, pinyin: Daojiao, "the way of teaching") is one of three pillars of Chinese thought with Confucianism and Buddhism and is based on the existence of an original principle behind all, called "Tao".

Rooted in ancient culture, this current is based on texts, including Tao Te Ching of Lao Tzu, the Lie Tzu and Chuang Tzu Zhuāngzǐ, and is expressed by the practices, which influenced the entire Far East, the West and even significantly since the twentieth century. It provides inter alia:

a quietist mysticism, taken by the chán Buddhism (predecessor of Japanese Zen);
a libertarian ethic that inspired such literature;
a sense of yin yang balance pursued by Chinese medicine and personal development;
a visible naturalism in calligraphy and art.
