German Chancellor Scholz has arrived on a visit to China. He was welcomed by the deputy mayor of Chongqing, not even by the mayor himself, and certainly not by the vice-premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and certainly not by President Xi.
Europeans are downgraded, and an African president would certainly be better received.
