Il y a quelques jours, le corps de José Antonio Primo de Rivera a été exhumé et déplacé vers le tombeau familial.
Il s'agit d'une des autres attaques de la gauche espagnole contre le mémorial de la vallée des morts, où reposait le général Francisco Franco. Son corps a également été déplacé en 2019 et une bataille juridique est toujours en cours au sujet de la croix au-dessus de la vallée.
Lors de l'exhumation du corps, un affrontement a eu lieu entre les nationalistes et la police. Trois manifestants ont été arrêtés.
C'est la quatrième fois dans l'histoire que la dépouille du Chef nationaliste espagnol est déplacée. Après son assassinat, les communistes l'ont enterré dans une fosse commune, puis le corps a été transporté à Alicante et, après la fin de la guerre civile, ses restes ont été transférés par des membres de la Falange dans un monastère situé à 450 km de là. Après l'achèvement de la tombe dans le Valle de los Caidos en 1959, c'est là qu'il a été enterré.
