Built in the 15th century, the fortified church has such an effective defensive structure that no one has ever managed to bring it down.
Also you can see there, in the park all around, a small hut where, according to the inhabitants of the village, couples who wanted to separate were locked up for 2 weeks. Technique which has apparently borne fruit, since the town hall has recorded only one divorce for 400 years.

Biertan - Roumanie

Construite au 15ème siècle, l'église fortifiée a une structure défensive tellement efficace que personne n'a jamais réussi à la faire tomber.
Aussi on peut y voir, dans le parc tout autour, une petite cabane où, d'après les habitants du village, on enfermait les couples qui désiraient se séparer pendant 2 semaines. Technique qui a apparemment porté ses fruits, puisque la mairie n'a enregistré qu'un seul divorce depuis 400 ans.
