Nous savons déjà le mot "east", l'est. Les autres points cardinaux sont:
"north" = le nord
"south" = le sud
"west" = l'ouest
Les adjectifs composés se forment comme en francais:
"south-east" = sud-est
"north-west" = nord-ouest

Les adjectifs formés à partir de nom propres s'écrivent toujours avec une capitale initiale.
Vous avez déjà apercu cette règle à la note 4 de la lecon 6:
"A norman cathedral" = une cathédrale normande.
"An English city" = Une ville anglaise.

Dans cette lécon, there n'est pas un démonstratif, mais un pronom. Dans les phrases 2 et 3,
"there is" signifie "il y a" devant un nom au singulier.
"There is a castle" = il y a un château.
"There are" signifie "Il y a " devant un nom pluriel
"There are two bridges" = Il y a deux ponts.
