Short clip I filmed on January 5th when walking in the centre of Donetsk. In the clip I say I'm not sure when the shelling occurred, but in retrospect it was likely Ukraine's NY's gift to us, early January 1st, which destroyed an apartment a couple of blocks away & damaged the beautiful Children's Library...
It may look like insignificant damage, but consider this happening routinely. When I walk in Donetsk, I notice shards of glass on sidewalk corners. The cleanup after Ukraine's shelling is fairly immediate, impressive, but in back lanes or between apartments, bits of glass do get missed.
The other glaring thing you notice when walking in the city is the boarded up windows, or windows covered with plastic.
It's officially cold here now, I pity the families who have to make due, live in such apartments & homes where the cold penetrates the plastic/wood covering blasted windows...
