The Beatles were born in Liverpool, England, in 1960.

At first, they only played in clubs around Liverpool and Hamburg, Germany. But quickly, a ‘Beatlemania’ frenzy started and reached other countries.

They were the ones leading the so-called ‘British Invasion’ of the United States pop market.

Even after their break-up, they remained hugely popular and some of the members are still musically active (most notably Paul McCartney)
